As soon as a child begins contact sport, usually around the age of eight, they should wear a professionally fitted mouthguard. Those brand new adult teeth need the highest level of protection. Newly emerged teeth, so in children from around seven-years-old to 11-years-old, need extra protection as they are especially vulnerable.

Children’s mouths are still developing, with new teeth emerging until their late teens.
